How to Quickly Peel Hard Boiled Eggs

  • After boiling the eggs drain them.
  • Rinse with cold water and add a few ice cubes, let them stand a few minutes in the ice water to cool them down and make them easier to handle.
  • Drain the cold icy water off the eggs but leave them in the pan.
  • Place the lid on the pan and give the eggs a good hard shake.
  • Remove the lid and slip the shells off the eggs.

  1. What an amazing tip! I can NEVER get the shells off my eggs that easily…I always end up taking a bit of the white off with the shell, and then my eggs look just terrible (especially when I’m trying to make deviled eggs for a potluck or something where I want them to look pretty). I’m definitely going to try this tip soon 🙂
