Menu Plan Monday, February 1st

Menu plan with recipe links

How did your week go last week? I hope it was a good one and if you had snow, I hope it’s pretty much not a problem anymore for you. Our weather has been pretty nice here. Lots of rain but nothing to really complain about.

I can’t believe it’s already February! In just a few weeks I’m hoping to plant some peas in our garden, that is if it’s dry enough. If you are thinking about planting peas this year I have a gardening guide for pole peas and bush peas too.

This past week the freezer in our refrigerator started to act up. I helped my husband fix it on Friday but it got me to looking at our freezer in the house and garage. They are both stuffed full so we will be eating more meals from them this week. I’m hoping to clear out the odds and ends out of them. Things like the two packages of hot dogs that only contain one or two hot dogs in them.

Here’s our menu plan for this week,

  1. We recently had issues with our freezer/refrigerator, too. Thankfully, my husband was able to fix the problem this time without us having to call our rental company, who charged the repair to us the last time someone came out. 🙁 I will never buy the brand of fridge in this house, and I’ll never rent from this company again after we move out. It’s been an experience…

Buy anyway, I’m glad you guys were able to get your freezer fixed, and your menu looks delicious, Shelly. I hope you and your family have a great week. 🙂

  2. I can’t believe it’s February either! Time seems to be going faster than it used to 😉

Hopefully your freezer will hold up for you until you can at least get your food eaten up. We had a big storm a few years ago that knocked our power out for a week, just when my house and garage freezers were packed with freezer meals! Luckily, a friend across town still had power and extra space in her freezer and let me store some things there. We still lost a lot of good food though.

We tried some new recipes this week, like a Tomato Chicken Bisque soup that was just wonderful! I’m glad that there was a lot leftover so that I can have it for lunch.

Hope you have a great week!
