Menu Plan Monday, June 27th

This week’s menu plan is a little different. My hubby will be on vacation this week, so I decided not to plan our lunches or breakfasts at all.

Menu plan with recipe links

I was thinking about taking the whole week off from menu planning, but decided that could be a disaster to our wallet, not having a plan.

I planned our dinners for the week below. But I didn’t plan breakfasts or lunches.

For breakfast and lunches we’ll just pick something off our favorite breakfast and lunch idea sheets.

We can always resort to eating sandwiches for lunch and toast and eggs for breakfast, so I don’t really need a plan for those meal this week.

But I’m sure we’ll eat something more special for breakfast like pancakes or waffles.

It’s nice having ideas ready and waiting even if you don’t make a plan. At least I won’t be staring into the cupboard wondering what to make.

I’ve also included a few 4th of July treat ideas for your celebration below.

Our Meal Plan for the Week

Dinners

This is the best and easiest homemade pasta sauce I’ve ever made. It’s so simple but tastes so delicious too. It only takes about 20 minutes to make too. Great for a quick and easy dinner any night of the week. If you can open a few cans and slice garlic you can make this delicious sauce in just minutes for a quick and easy dinner. Add in cooked ground beef or cooked sausage to beef it up.

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce, Salad, and Garlic Bread

World’s Best Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, and Home Canned Green Beans

Slow Cooker Hamburger Dish, Salad and Fruit

4th of July Treats

This is an easy to make patriotic pretzel snack mix. It’s perfect for your fourth of July celebration. It would be great to serve as a snack while waiting for the burgers to get done on the grill. Or for the kids to snack on it while you are waiting for the fireworks to begin. It’s so easy even the kids can help to make this recipe.
These blondies are not only delicious but patriotic for the 4th of July or Memorial day. This dessert recipe is easy to make. It's the perfect blend of chewy molasses blondies with delicious pockets of chocolate. Make these for your fourth of July BBQ everyone will love them. I know we'll be having them.
On the Fourth of July, I like to make a special dessert to enjoy. These red, white, and blue brownie cups are perfect. They are easy to make but are the perfect red, white and blue dessert. These would be a great addition to a barbecue or party. There’s a nice balance of sweet and creaminess to them. I’ll be making them this year for our 4th of July celebration.

  1. Your menu looks so good, as usual 🙂

I haven’t decided what to make for the 4th yet…usually we have burgers on the grill and some sort of side dish, like corn on the cob, potato salad, etc. I’ll have to check with my husband and see what he’d like to eat.

Are you allowed to buy fireworks to use at your house? We always had a lot of fun setting off fireworks in the middle of the street on the 4th when I lived in California, but they are not allowed here in Maryland. We have to try to find somewhere to go to see them, or just watch the PBS show from Washington D.C.

    1. We can buy fireworks where we live. Nothing that leaves the ground. Things like sparklers, fountains and stuff like that. But in Washington state, just over the river from us, you can purchase the big fireworks like people see at firework events. So in our neighborhood there is quite a display all around us each year. It so sad you can’t have fireworks at all. 🙁 I hope you have a great 4th of July!
