Menu Plan Monday, Kids Pick

We are inching closer to the new year and I find when I’m busy it’s really helpful to have a menu plan. It helps to keep us from eating out and I know what we are having for dinner so I can prepare what we need ahead of time.

Menu plan with recipe links

This week my kids planned our menu. They did really well.

The BLT’s weren’t a surprise as they both love them.

But I was surprised that they wanted southern fried tofu this week. It’s a recipe I found years ago and they still love it. Although I’m not sure my son knows he’s eating tofu. I think he thinks it chicken.

What’s cooking at your house this week?

Here’s what’s on our Menu for this Week,

Dinners

Beef and Bean Enchiladas from the slow cooker, Frugal Family Home

Beef and Bean Enchiladas, Salad, and Fruit

Southern Fried Tofu, Egg Noodles, and Salad

Chicken Fajitas, Refried Beans, with Chips and Salsa

BLT Sandwiches, Chips, and Fruit

Pancakes, Sausage, and Eggs

Teriyaki Chicken, Rice, and Stir Fry Vegetables

Beef Macaroni Skillet, Salad, and Garlic Bread

Lunches

Leftover most days

Hoagie Roll Sandwiches, Chips, and Fruit

Pizza Pocket with Salad

Breakfast

This is an easy and healthy recipe for chocolate pumpkin muffins. If you leave out the chocolate chips they become weight watcher friendly too. I love how easy they are to make and how moist and delicious they always turn out. Come watch the video and see how easy they are to make.

Toast with Eggs

Chocolate Pumpkin Muffins, Eggs, and Sausage

Caramel Sticky Buns, Eggs, and Sausage

  1. That’s so funny that your son thinks your tofu dish is actually chicken! I wish I could “trick” my kids like that…dinner is always such a struggle with my son…he only seems to want to eat crackers, yogurt and desserts. Hopefully when he’s a teenager, he’ll just eat everything in sight and then I can feed him a more balanced diet 😉

    Have a great week!

    1. I know Erin, he has always believed it’s chicken. But he’s been eating it most of his life and I think that helped but he does have things he just won’t eat too. Crackers are also popular at our house as well as desserts.
