It’s Monday and time to decide what’s going to be on the menu plan this week. I save quite a bit of money by planning my menu each week and you can too.

My son loves sloppy joes. We had them a while ago and he was asking for them again. So they are on our meal plan for this week.

We’ve had really nice sunny weather but the air is still chilly. Because of that coolness in the air soup sounded good. One of our favorites is the easy to make chicken pot pie soup. My hubby doesn’t like the name but he gobbles it up.

If your family loves pizza as much as ours does, the pizza cups recipe is one you need to try. They are easy to assemble and so tasty too. Once you make them, you’ll want to make them again and again. They do freeze well if you have any leftover.

The rest of the week will be easy recipes. We are also having chicken stir fry to use up the vegetables in the crisper drawer. Don’t want to let any of those fresh vegetables go to waste.

I love how easy these cinnamon twist scones are to make. They are as easy to mix up as biscuits, but turn out looking so fancy. Great for breakfast or brunch when company is coming over. They are also a frugal breakfast recipe costing only $.10 each. My family gobbles these up every time I made them.

    My menu this week:
Monday: pork steak, mashed potatoes, freezer corn, sauted zucchini/onions
Tuesday: baked chicken, baked potatoes, spinach, biscuits
    Wednesday: fish, fries, slaw
    Thursday: tator tot casserole, salad
Friday: leftover tator tot casserole, salad
    Saturday: spaghetti/pasta sauce,garlic bread, salad
Sunday: meatloaf, mashed potatoes, mac&cheese, peas

Thanks Shelly. We are living on a fixed income, so being frugal is a must. I guess I have always had to be, so it has become second nature. I buy meat for April in March so I have plenty of time to set up menus and if I find a new recipe then I have time to work it in. I have always looked at it as a game and I win when I can feed everyone meals they like, as cheaply as possible. I put a lot of food in the freezer from my garden each summer and fall.

  3. Your menu looks good, Shelly! Chicken pot pie soup sounds super yummy, too! 🙂 We’re having breakfast for dinner today.
