Menu Plan Monday, November 19th

It’s Monday and time to plan our meals for this week. This week we are having family favorites and yummy comfort foods.

Fall is a great time of year for planning soups for dinner. Soups are easy to make and can really stretch your dollar too.

This week we are having my favorite soup, Chicken Pot Pie Soup. It is so good! I can’t wait to make it. It’s so quick and easy to make. 

We will also be having black bean stew and broccoli chowder. These are new recipes to us so I hope they are good. 

For Thanksgiving we’ll be having the traditional menu of smoked turkey and all the fixings. 

We will also be enjoying some of my family’s favorite meals this week, like pizza.

For breakfast on the weekend, I’ll be making  dairy free double chocolate donuts. Now don’t those just sound so good too?

And for lunches we’ll be having a favorite my grandma used to make all the time in the fall and winter. It’s potato soup, it’s so quick and easy to make, we love it.

Slow Cooker Pork Chops in an Hour, Mashed Potatoes, and Salad

Thanksgiving Dinner, Turkey, Cashew Stuffing, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Garlic Ginger Green Beans, Quick Dinner Rolls, and Dairy Free Pumpkin Pie

Chicken Pot Pie Soup (made with left over turkey instead of chicken) and Salad  

Broccoli Chowder, Salad, and Fruit

Tuna Patties, Rice, Homemade Tartar Sauce, and Salad

Lunches

Leftover most days

Potato Soup, Fruit and Veggie Sticks

Chicken Strip Sandwiches and Baked Fries

Breakfast

This is an easy and delicious baked donuts recipe. Who wouldn’t love double chocolate donuts that are baked to help keep the fat down? Better yet, these are also dairy free donuts too. You’ll have to see how easy these are to make. If you can measure and stir you can make them too.

  1. Hi Shelly, your chicken pot pie soup looks perfect. I have one question, I noticed there isn’t that much liquid in your soup. Will it really serve 4-6? I’m planning on making this tonight for dinner and I need left overs for my husbands lunch. Thanks!

    1. Sakura, sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. I was offline most of the day.

      For our family this recipe makes a good size portion for 4 people. We usually get 6 serving, 4 dinner sized portions and 2-3 small lunch sized portions. I hope that helps.

  2. Hi, I made this and improvised with the liquid side and it was delicious. I liked putting the pie crust on the side, my husband is diabetic so he could choose whether or not not have a few pieces. Also instead of potatoes I used jerusalem artichokes, they have a lower carb content, and it was perfect. Why didn’t I link of the crust on the side before? You’ve given me some inspiration to try this with a few of the desserts I make. Thanks again!

  4. Tis the season for soup! And that soup looks delicious! I might try making a veggie version, maybe with chickpeas.

    Your pizza looks wonderful too! What do you use for crust?
