5 Goals for October

Inside: What I accomplished on my September goals and my goal plan for October.

It’s hard to believe we are already starting into the last three months of this year. It seems like this year really went by quickly. We’ve gotten back into our regular school schedule and things are going well.

Now it’s time to start to get ready for the holidays. I like to get an early start so I have more time to do baking in November and early December.

The goals I accomplished in September and what I'll be working on in October too.

The Goal Plan for October

This month I’ll be working on 5 main areas. Home Projects, Healthy Habits, Blog Growth, Family Time, and Using my Online Calendar. I’ve updated the progress I made on each goal as well as my plans for this month too. I would love to have you share in the comments below what your goals are for this month.

Home Projects

I was able to finish the last of the painting I had to do on the house. The only areas left are up really high, which I can’t do on my own. We need to borrow a 25-foot ladder to reach those areas and my husband doesn’t want me working in those areas when he isn’t home to help. I’m hoping we can finish this project up while my husband is on vacation this month, if it’s not raining.

Family Time

The weather has turning cooler and we are doing less outside and more inside for our family time. This past month we were blessed with a few days that were really nice and we spent time outside planting our fall garden and doing a few other things.

This month we will spend our family time watching movies or playing games. If there is a good day here and there we might get outside to do a few things in the garden too.

Healthy Habits

I continued exercising regularly with the kids. I was able to get in 15 minutes of exercise 4 days a week. I also was able to limit eating after dinner to only once in a while, which ended up being about 1 night a week. That was a big improvement for me and it cut down on my calorie intake without me feeling I had really cut back at all.

This month I’ll continue exercising with the kids 4 days a week and keep working on cutting back on my eating with smaller meals and less or smaller snacks.

Blog Growth

I’ve been working through a blogging course and I’ve kept up with all of the lessons. But for my blog design, I only made a new logo. I’m still working on the rest of the design which is taking me forever. But with slow steady progress, I’m hoping to get it done soon.

The goals I accomplished in September and what I'll be working on in October too.

Organizing my Time

I’m continuing to use my online calendar. It’s an adjustment for me but I’m trying. I started writing out my to-do list each day and prioritizing it too. I think it’s helping.

I’m going to try using a notebook to write down the tasks I need to get done each day, this is a something I learned this month. I’m hoping with the notebook and the reminders on that come through my calendar I can get a good system down for tracking what needs to be done each day.

Those are my 5 main goals for this month. I’ve been keeping on track with my goals using the steps I learned in the Make Over Your Year Course It has really helped me to break down my goals into steps for each week and each month to reach my goals. So far it’s been going really well this year.

If you need to set goals of your own I would definitely recommend Crystal’s Make Over Your Year course. You don’t have to wait for the new year to start to make over your year, you can start today!

What goals are you working on for this month? I would love to have you share them in the comments below.

  1. Good for you on getting your house painting done! That must have been a really big undertaking!

I’ve made it a goal to write a fresh newsletter every Friday instead of sending out an RSS feed email whenever I published a new post. I wasn’t getting many clicks with the RSS method, and I felt that I was just wasting time with it.

Even though it is a bit more work writing a fresh newsletter-style email every week, I feel like it’s a bit more personal, and it’s helping improve my open rate and I’m getting more click-throughs.

My goal for the next few months is to create some more products for my blog, and to keep up with my social media postings each week.

    1. Sounds like you’ve been doing a great job with your newsletter goal. I’ve been getting them and I like the new format. I’m glad it has improved your click throughs too. Yeah! I’m looking forward to your new products too. How exciting.
