Goals 2013, June Update

“A year from now you may wish you had started today.”-Karen Lamb

Another month has just flown by. We officially ended our homeschooling year this month with my daughter successfully completing here standardized testing. So now it’s time to start planning for the next school year.

For my other goals, I have made a little progress in my weight loss goal, losing now 3 pounds total. So I am really happy about that. Now that might not seem like much but I will take any little victory I can get.

I finished the decluttering in the master bedroom. Which truth be told wasn’t much to do as I had already tackled the closet and drawers in the Clutter Busting Challenge. I am hoping to have an update post tomorrow. I also submitted my first guest post and I will let you know when it is published. So I am slowly chipping away at my goals for this year.

Here’s the goals I finally settled on for this year,

Seeking God

Bible Reading with the Kids each day
Prayer time each day
Ministering to other by praying, encouraging notes, phone calls

Family

Be more aware of my husbands needs, do special things for him (helped my husband remove the engine from a classic car we own this past month)
Take time with each child every week or at least each month ( I did better with this goal, helping each one with some projects they were working on)
Teach kids to be productive and contribute by helping in the kitchen, yard, garden, chores (we continue to make progress, there is still a lot of reminding on my part but they are really helping often)
Homeschooling for my daughter grade 10th to 11th
Homeschooling for my son grade 1st to 2nd

Home Management

Organize and declutter the whole house, do one room/area a month and maintain rooms already accomplished (finished up the master bedroom this past month)
Set a cleaning schedule up and stick with it
Meal plan and prep, plan menu for 5 weeks at a time and do regular quick freezer cooking sessions, try new recipes regularly
Make a plan with my husband about any home improvements we need to tackle this year and schedule
Continue my coupon shopping, bulk buying, freezer cooking and couponing to keep our household and grocery bill down

Financial

Get Budget plan set for the year and re-evaluate each month
Rebuild saving for medical expenses
Give regularly
Start saving towards a rental purchase (this is going to take quite a while but each year we will be closer)
Contribute and Invest on a regular basis

Personal

Read 12 books this year ( I have read 5 this year so far and I am working on 3 book right now)
Do a craft project a month
Lose 40 pounds (only 37 pounds left)
Expand my knowledge base in the areas of blogging, graphics and business
Take more photographs and work on improving my skills

Blogging

Make a blogging schedule
Set blogging times for each day with limits
Plan blog posts one month in advance ( I have this month planned out )
Schedule post one week in advance ( I am currently one week ahead and hoping to stay that way)
Write 6 to 12 guest post to submit (I have submitted one so far this year)

Are you making good progress on your goals for this year?
