Goals for 2013, May Update

“A year from now you may wish you had started today.”-Karen Lamb

Well the month of May has come and gone so it is time for me to update on my goals for this year. I made some great progress on my goal of clearing out the clutter in my home with the Clutter Busting Challenge last month.

The Bible reading is going great with the kids, we finished out the school year and I am making plans for a little homeschooling during the summer. I have been pitching in helping my husband around the house with things he needs to get done. The kids have been helping with the gardening and cleaning of the house too. We are making good progress in building a serving spirit in both of them.

We stayed on budget for the month of May and it looks like June will be the same. I have been working on keeping my blogging time in check and it is working out fairly well. I have one guest post to submit and I am hopeful to get it done this month. I am really behind on this goal but I am hoping to get caught up.

All in all May was a good month, with some good progress on my yearly goals. How did you do on your goals this past month?

The Goals I’m Working On This Year,

Seeking God

Be more aware of my husbands needs, do special things for him
Take time with each child every week or at least each month

Homeschooling for my daughter grade 10th to 11th (done with 10th grade)
Homeschooling for my son grade 1st to 2nd (done with 1st grade)

Home Management

Organize and declutter the whole house, do one room/area a month and maintain rooms already accomplished (I made good progress on this goal in May now I hope to continue strong in this month too)
Set a cleaning schedule up and stick with it
Meal plan and prep, plan menu for 5 weeks at a time and do regular quick freezer cooking sessions, try new recipes regularly
Make a plan with my husband about any home improvements we need to tackle this year and schedule
Continue my coupon shopping, bulk buying, freezer cooking and couponing to keep our household and grocery bill down

Financial

Get Budget plan set for the year and re-evaluate each month
Rebuild saving for medical expenses
Give regularly
Start saving towards a rental purchase (this is going to take quite a while but each year we will be closer)
Contribute and Invest on a regular basis

Do a craft project a month
Lose 40 pounds (making progress with this goal, I should have an update next week)
Expand my knowledge base in the areas of blogging, graphics and business
Take more photographs and work on improving my skills

Blogging

Make a blogging schedule
Set blogging times for each day with limits (I sometimes run over but I am working on it)
Plan blog posts one month in advance
Schedule post one week in advance (I am almost one week ahead in my posts)
Write 6 to 12 guest post to submit ( I have one ready to submit and I hope to get it done this month)

How did the month of May go for you, in regards to progress with your yearly goals?

    1. Thanks Sandra, it has taken me quite a few months to get ahead a week. Now the trick is to stay ahead. I am trying to write two post a day to keep a little buffer.
