Goals For 2013

“A year from now you may wish you had started today.”-Karen Lamb

The quote above I found online while looking for ideas on how to goal plan for a year. I was not looking forward to planning for a year and was trying to convince myself to just do a weekly plan when I came a-crossed the quote. It made me realize that there are areas that fell by the wayside this past year that I wished I could have been more diligent with so that was just the push I needed to get me going on planning my goals for this year.

This whole planning process was just a little scary for me, because I don’t like to fail but who does right? Never planning this far out in advance before is a big change for me from just planning one week ahead. I took on planning by choosing first which areas of my life I wanted to make priorities. Then I picked a few goals for each area.

Here is the goals I finally settled on for this year,

Seeking God

Bible Reading with the Kids each day
Prayer time each day
Ministering to other by praying, encouraging notes, phone calls

Family

Be more aware of my husbands needs, do special things for him
Take time with each child every week or at least each month
Teach kids to be productive and contribute by helping in the kitchen, yard, garden, chores
Homeschooling for my daughter grade 10th to 11th
Homeschooling for my son grade 1st to 2nd

Home Management

Organize and declutter the whole house, do one room/area a month and maintain rooms already accomplished
Set a cleaning schedule up and stick with it
Meal plan and prep, plan menu for 5 weeks at a time and do regular quick freezer cooking sessions, try new recipes regularly
Make a plan with my husband about any home improvements we need to tackle this year and schedule
Continue my coupon shopping, bulk buying, freezer cooking and couponing to keep our household and grocery bill down

Financial

Get Budget plan set for the year and re-evaluate each month
Rebuild saving for medical expenses
Give regularly
Start saving towards a rental purchase (this is going to take quite a while but each year we will be closer)
Contribute and Invest on a regular basis

Personal

Read 12 books this year
Do a craft project a month
Lose 40 pounds
Expand my knowledge base in the areas of blogging, graphics and business
Take more photographs and work on improving my skills

Blogging

Make a blogging schedule
Set blogging times for each day with limits
Plan blog posts one month in advance
Schedule post one week in advance
Write 6 to 12 guest post to submit

That is my plan for this year. I will be updating each month as the year goes on with the progress I am making.

What goals have you set for yourself for the next year? Please share them in the comments I would love to hear about them.
