One Word for 2013…Persist

Have you heard about One Word 365. It is all about picking one word to that sums up who you want to be, or how you want to live, One word you can focus on every day of the year.

I was wondering what my one word of the year should be. I have never pick a word for the year before but I thought I would give it a try. Then the word Persist came to mind, probably because many of my goals I will need to be persistent through the year to reach them.

When I looked up the definition of Persist I found, to continue firmly or obstinately in an opinion or a course of action in spite of difficulty, opposition, or failure. This is definitely the word for me as I take on the challenge of losing weight this year. I have often in the past have given up my course of action (to lose weight) because of a bad day (or failure) and then slipped back into my old ways. So I am hopeful with this word in front of me each day as I am here on my blog and on my computer I can be reminded to stay the course to reach my goal.

So what about you? Have you picked your One Word for this new year?

If you have decided on one and would like to have a nice button like the one in this post? Melanie over at One Breath is making them for free. Go on over here and you can see how to request one for yourself.

Also once you have your word picked out be sure to go over and link up at One Word 356 too.
