The triumphs and a trial from my garden this year.

I’ve been having triumphs and tragedy in the garden this year. One of my triumphs in the garden is this lovely little lavender hydrangea. This little plant was started from a branch off of our blue hydrangea bush. I shared about it’s start in our garden here.

Another triumph is our green beans. They are growing like crazy. Last year our green beans did so well, I saved a bunch of seeds and this year they are preforming wonderfully again. They have already overgrown the cattle panel trellis I have them on.

The tragedy is our cucumbers. I usually plant two varieties of cucumbers the vine type and a bush type. Well, the bush type is really doing well but the vine type is not growing at all. The cucumbers are forming but then they only to turn yellow and shrivel up. It’s so sad.

I see small little bite marks on the leaves, so I’m thinking it some sort of bug getting to them and/or they are not getting pollinated. I need to do more research to see what is going on. I’m glad the bush cucumbers are doing better. I just hope whatever is happening doesn’t spread.

Enough about what is happening in my garden. Let me share with you a few great post we had linked up at last week’s Tuesday Garden Party.
