Here’s What’s Been Happening in My Garden,
I’m so glad we are starting in with a little fall weather. The cooler air and temperatures have been really nice. I know it’s been nice for our plants. The hot weather this year was really hard on our hydrangeas.
We have pretty hardy hydrangeas, but the heat really scorched their leaves, even though I was really good about watering them. We have them planted in an area where they get a little sun from early morning until about noon, but the heat was still hard on them. As you can see from the photos above. Even though the plant had scorched leaves here and there it just kept blooming and growing. Which is just amazing to me.
We also had a little wind recently and our poor beans just took a beating. Many leaves just fell off the bottom of the plant and even though it was raining most of the day the wind was blowing, the leaves shriveled up. But those beans are still producing more. Again, it’s amazing how bad a plant can look but just keep on giving.
