Goals for this Week, July 13th

My goals for this week and how last week went too.

I have to admit, I didn’t do well on my goals this past week. We did go swimming almost every day, I kept up with watering and taken care of the garden. I also kept up with my blogging duties but that is about it.

My hope for this week is to start my son’s new reading workbook. I’m also going to encourage to kids to listen to one chapter of their audiobook or maybe we need to switch to a new one. They seemed to have lost interest in the one they have been working on.

I know I’ll be canning dill pickles, peaches, pears, applesauce and jam. But as to how much I need, I haven’t figure that out yet. At least I know what I need to get canned. I’m hoping to decide on how much this week.

  1. Hello,
Can you tell me what is a reading workbook.
I love your posts. Being 65 years young gives one a new interest in life. Thank you
    Bren.

    1. Brenda, Since we homeschool I like my son to do some school work over the summer. We have a workbook, for him to practice his reading skills and learn new ones, like spelling, sounding out words, learning new blends, things like that. I’ve found that using a workbook over the summer is a little different from what we do during the school year and he enjoys being able to work on his own with just a little help from me.

  2. Sounds like you still got a lot done…good for you! As for me, I’m failing miserably at all of my goals, except one…having a lot of summer fun with my kids. We’ve been trying to do at least one fun thing everyday, in addition to daily swim lessons and our weekly piano lesson. I haven’t been able to make it to the gym or work too much on my blog, but I’m trying not to stress about it too much 🙂

Hope you have a great week!
