Place one pie crust into the pie and seat it in well.
Mix the flour and nutmeg together in a small bowl.
Place the sliced apples into a large bowl and sprinkle with the flour and nutmeg mixture.
Add the brown sugar to the apples and toss to coat well.
Place the coated apples into the pie crust in the pan.
Arrange the apples so they are heaped and fit inside the pie plate.
Place the second pie crust on top of the apples.
Tuck any extra pie crust under to form a thick pie crust on the edge.
Crimp or flute the pie crust edge.
Cut slits in the top of the pie and sprinkle with sugar if desired.
Bake 425 for 40-50 minutes or until apples are soft and pie crust is browned.
