Add the oil to the skillet and heat over medium heat.
Add the sliced garlic cloves, stir and heat for a few minutes. You want them to be fragrant but not brown at all. If they brown they will be bitter.
Once the garlic is fragrant, add the rest of the ingredients and stir to combine.
Bring the sauce to a boil, cover, and turn down the heat to low or enough heat to maintain a simmer.
Simmer for 15 minutes or longer if you have time.
Serve over cooked pasta.
