12 Months to a Healthier You, Week 35

A healthier You for 2014

I’m following along with the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge at Money Saving Mom. I started the challenge in January to help keep me motivated to lose weight and help me establish some good healthy habits too.

How the Challenge Works

Each month of the challenge will have an area to focus on, to help improve your health and mine. This month’s focus will be on getting to bed early.

Rest is so important to stay healthy. For this month I’ll be trying to go to bed a little earlier so I can be sure to get enough sleep each night.

My Goal for August’s Focus Area

This month the focus will be on getting to bed early. I’ve been fairly consistent on getting to bed at a reasonable time each night. So, my goal for this month is to be in bed by 10:30 each night. And when I mean be in bed, that means in bed with all of my electronic devices turned off.

It easy to crawl into bed and then start watching a video or catching up on Facebook or email. Does anyone else do this? But for the month of August I will be trying to be in bed with all electronics off by 10:30. I think that is a fairly reasonable time. Don’t you?

My Progress for this week

This week I did so much better than last week. I hit my goal each night this week. It’s easy when I just turn off my electronics and leave them off. 🙂

For my other goals, I was able to limit sweets this week, eat my fruits and vegetables, I didn’t get all my water in but came really close and I exercised each day.

Have you been getting to bed on time? Or are you at least making progress?

  1. Great job, Shelly! 🙂 You know, I’ve been leaving my laptop downstairs when I go to bed, and that’s what’s been helping me get to sleep earlier. I made my goal of getting up by 6am every day this week except for the one night when our smoke detectors randomly went off just before 3am.

    1. Oh my, that must have jolted you awake. We’ve had that happen before too. Not fun at all.
