Step by Step Tutorial for Vanilla Pancake Syrup Recipe

After you’ve gathered your ingredients, it’s time to make some delicious syrup. Let’s get to it!

Step 1. Mix Wet Ingredients with Sugar

stirring the dry and wet ingredients together.

In a small sauce pan or a medium sauce pan, add the water, molasses, and sugar.

You are going to heat this over medium-high heat to high heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. You don’t want any sugar crystals to burn on the bottom of the pan.

So keep stirring until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 2. Bring to a Full Rolling Boil

Once the sugar is dissolved, you can stop stirring and heat over high heat until mixture comes to a full rolling boil.

If you are unsure what a full rolling boil is, it’s a boil you can stop by stirring. You can see what it looks like in the video above.

Once the simple syrup comes to a full rolling boil, turn off the burner but leave the hot syrup on the burner to cool down.

The total time for cool down will vary, but you’ll want to leave the pan on the burner until the bubbling stops.

Step 3. Add Vanilla Flavoring

After the bubbling stops, remove the warm syrup from the burner and stir in the vanilla flavoring.

If you want, you can also add maple flavoring.

I love homemade syrups (but mostly for my cold brewed coffee 😊). My first introduction to homemade syrup was my mom making it when I was a child. SO good!
