Goals for this Week, August 24th
This week was a busy week. I’ve been doing canning of green beans from the garden. The garden is producing well so I’m getting lots of beans to put up for later. My friend also called to let me know she had two 5-gallon buckets of pears for me, if I wanted them.
I’m always so happy to get produce for free, so I started canning those late this past week. We will soon have enough beans and pears for quite some time. I’m also hoping to can some peaches and pickles this week too. Next week we start our homeschool lesson, so I’m hoping to get a bunch of canning out-of-the-way this week.
While I’m in the midst of canning season, I often feel overwhelmed at times, by my tasks at hand. But when I’m done it’s so nice to have food put up for our family.
Here’s the things I was able to accomplished this past week,

Finish our homeschool planning
Make a new recipe with the kids

What’s your goals for this week?
Canning Season is on us, Shelly! Free produce is the best! I have spent a lot of time with tomatoes and need to finish up some with them this week.
Overwhelming task, but oh so worth it when done.
I agree, yeah for free produce!
It was very nice of your friend to bless you with all of those pears. Wow! I think I’d like to learn how to can someday…maybe when more of the kids are older. At the moment, it can be tough getting free hands just to peal potatoes for dinner. 😉
We started our homeschool year today, and so far, so good.
I hope you have a great week, Shelly!
