30 Day House Cleaning Challenge…Update Project #5-7
Project #5-7
Today it was much easier to surface clean the living room and the kitchen. I had the kids help pick up the toys in the living room and dust and vacuum while I worked in the kitchen on the counters and the microwave.
I had a stray jar and some recycling to take out to the recycling can in the kitchen. In the living room there was some toys that needed to be picked up. Then we vacuumed the living room and the kitchen.
I used my Mrs. Meyers Clean Day spray on the counter tops to do a quick clean. (this stuff smells so good) To clean the microwave, I just placed a cup of water in the microwave and heated it to let it steam and then I just had to wipe out the microwave.
I also cleaned the inside of the windows around the house too. Since I have been cleaning the windows in each room as I went along, there were only a few left in the basement to tackle so it was a quick job to finish up today.
All in all I think our cleaning today took us about 20 minutes tops.
Here’s some pictures from our cleaning today,
I hope I am not the only one whose living room looks like this on a regular basis. We do pick up at least 2 times a day but the toys are usually scattered about.
The kitchen wasn’t too bad at all today. 🙂
I just had to take a picture of my sparkling clean sink.
The living room is picked up again. I don’t know how long it will last but at least you can walk across the floor without stepping on toys.
I have to admit I love having the rooms all nice and picked up. I also like that it didn’t take me all day to do these tasks. 🙂
How did your cleaning go today?
[signoff]
I didn’t really do much, except my usual straightening up of the kitchen that I do everyday. One of my daughter’s chores is cleaning the few windows in the living room, so she did that for me today 🙂
I really liked how easy it was to spruce up the kitchen and living room. I also did our windows on the inside but now I see how dirty they are on the outside so I may need to do the outside of the windows soon. I think I will wait until our trees are done blooming as they release pollen everywhere.
Way to go! Yesterday, my son and I planted some vegetable seeds. I swept the backyard patio and sprayed down the outdoor rug.
Melinda, I planted seeds in the garden this week too. I planted some spinach, lettuce and radishes. We also put some of our seedlings in our cold frame outside. I need to transplant them into a little bigger pots this week.
Looks great! I agree it feels so nice to have clean rooms. What I have found with this challenge is that I am doing what i do everyday anyway, but I am going above and beyond so it can qualify in my mind as “Spring Cleaning” lol..
Leah, this challenge is helping me to focus on certain rooms at a time so I am getting more done in each room. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
