4 Weeks to a More Organized Home, Baseboards

Spring cleaning and decluttering continues at our house this week. If you haven’t started the challenge yet, now would be a great time to join the challenge. If you want to follow along be sure to grab Crystal’s free ebook.

Today, I did the complete list of the challenge. I’m not sure if I will be able to do all the tasks each day of the challenge, but my goal is to get at least the shortened version done each day.

Here’s the tasks for today,

• Get dressed.
• Make a to do list of 5-7 items to accomplish today.
• Complete your Morning Routine
• Set a Timer for 15 minutes and vacuum main living areas.
• Wipe down the baseboards
• Purge 7 items

The first three are things I do each day already, so those tasks were easy for me to get done. Here’s how the rest of my tasks went along with the  photos,

Baseboards Dusting

Last time, I cleaned the baseboards they had a heavy layer of dust on them. I used to clean them every 3-6 months but decided it might be better to tackle them more often. I have to say that cleaning the baseboards once a month has paid off. They weren’t bad at all. My son helped me wipe them down. He also had to make a funny face for the photo.

Quick Vacuum of Main Areas

While my son and myself were wiping down the baseboards, my daughter vacuumed for me. She always does a great job with this task. It just took us about 15 minutes for the tasks today since we all worked together.

Purged Items

I found some items to get rid of in the junk drawer. It seems there is always something that needs to go in that drawer. I didn’t organize the drawer I just grabbed a few items I knew needed to go.

My kids tend to drop little bits of garbage into this drawer. I think instead of putting the garbage into the garbage can they drop the garbage into the drawer with the other items they are putting away. I routinely have to take garbage items out. 🙂

Wednesday, I’ll be wiping down the door handles and going through a dresser drawer.
