12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge, Week 16 Update
I’m following along with the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge at Money Saving Mom. I started the challenge in January to help keep me motivated to lose weight and help me establish some good healthy habits too.
How the Challenge Works
Each month of the challenge will have an area to focus on, to help improve your health and mine. This month’s challenge is to continue to reduced your sugar intake.
By focusing on one area each month, it should give us time to really get it set as a habit. So it won’t end up being something we just do for one month. I’m hoping I will be able to continue the improvements for a long time.
April’s Focus Area
This month’s focus is on reducing sugar intake. This challenge has been the most challenging for me this whole year. I have such a huge sweet tooth, it’s hard to keep my sugar eating under control at times.
That is why I decided my goal for this month would be to reduce my sugar intake two days a week. I know it’s not much but every little bit will help in the long run.
My Progress for this week
This week I was able to reduce my sugar intake two days and meet my goal. I decided to pick a couple days early in the week to reduce my sugar intake. It worked out well for me. I think getting this goal out of the way early in the week really helped.
I also was able to get my fruits and vegetables in this week. I also exercised 5 times this week. I get my exercising out of the way first thing in the day, so I don’t make any excuses to not do it.
What has helped you the most to reduce your sugar intake?

I’m not doing the challenge (totally should!), but I wanted to tell you how proud I am of you! You’re doing an awesome job!!
Thanks Danica! You made my day!
Shelley, do you take quality vitamins regularly? I notice that when I do, my sugar cravings are much, much less!
Luba, I do take vitamins regularly. But maybe I need to find a better quality one. Thanks for the suggestion.
