12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge, Week 17 Update
I’m following along with the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge at Money Saving Mom. I started the challenge in January to help keep me motivated to lose weight and help me establish some good healthy habits too.
How the Challenge Works
Each month of the challenge will have an area to focus on, to help improve your health and mine. This is the last week to focus on reducing my sugar intake. How did you do this month?
By focusing on one area each month, it should give us time to really get it set as a habit. So it won’t end up being something we just do for one month. I’m hoping I will be able to continue the improvements for a long time.
April’s Focus Area
This challenge was by far the hardest for me in this series. I think I had good success with it because I took a small step in just reducing my sugar intake on two days. I know I would have had a much harder time if I had tried for five days. So I’m glad I set a reasonable limit for myself.
How did you do this month if you were working on cutting back on sugar? Did you find it easier or harder than you thought?
My Progress for this week
I was able to reduce my sugar 3 days this week, one extra day than my goal. I also was able to get my fruits and vegetables in this week along with my exercising. It’s so nice to be making some good progress.
I also noticed that when I reduced my sugar intake my appetite was not as big. I was able to avoid seconds at many of my meals. Which is also a good improvement for me.
So that wraps up another month in the challenge. Next month focus area will be on getting more rest. So if you have a hard time getting in enough sleep why not join in?

Setting reasonable limits is so important to stick with it. I need to get back into this challenge, I’ve fallen off the wagon and I can’t get up!
Thanks for sharing with #smallvictoriessundaylinky last week. Sorry I’m late commenting/pinning but do hope you link up again this week !
I hope you can get back on the wagon, it’s hard to restart but I know you can do it!
