12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge, Week 25 Update

A healthier You for 2014

I’m following along with the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge at Money Saving Mom. I started the challenge in January to help keep me motivated to lose weight and help me establish some good healthy habits too.

How the Challenge Works

Each month of the challenge will have an area to focus on, to help improve your health and mine. This month’s focus will be on setting up a morning routine.

Having a routine has been really important for me. Now that we are going into the summer and it’s time to set up a new morning routine to go along with the season change.

My Goals for June’s Focus Area

If you don’t have a morning routine you might want to check out the challenge I did a while ago on how to set up a morning routine.

When we start summer our schedule gets relaxed quite a bit. Since we have so much more free time it is easy to get sidetracked and then before I know it, the day is gone. My goal for this month is to find a new morning routine that helps me get the things I need to get done early in the day. Which will give me more free time to do fun things with the kids.

My Progress for this week

This week I did stick to my morning routine most days. Although a few days, I ended up getting up a few minutes late, but all in all it was a good week, for sticking to my morning routine.

I was able to keep up with exercising 5 times this week. I also was able to get my fruits and vegetables in each day thanks to our gardening starting to produce well. I’m doing better at getting my water in each day. I think it has finally become a regular habit for me.

My one area of struggle this week was with sweets. I purchased some candy for my Dad for Father’s day and I purchased some for our family too. That meant that I ended up eating way too many sweets this past week. Most of the overindulgence was done over last weekend so I had the rest of the week to recover. Nothing like eating too much sugar at one time to get you to leave the sweets alone for a while. 🙂

How did your week go? Did you struggle with anything this week?

  1. Great job sticking to your morning routine most days, Shelly. I feel like today went pretty well because I woke up before my littlest one. But I really need to make this a habit!

    1. Thanks Sandra and good job on getting up before your little one, I know that can be hard to do. 🙂
