12 Months to a Healthier You, Week 10 Update

A healthier You for 2014

I’m following along with the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge at Money Saving Mom. I started the challenge in January to help keep me motivated to lose weight and help me establish some good healthy habits too.

How the Challenge Works

Each month of the challenge will have an area to focus on, to help improve your health and mine. This is the start of a new month and so the focus is changing from eating more fruits and vegetables to drinking more water.

By focusing on one area each month, it should give us time to really get it set as a habit. So it won’t end up being something we just do for one month. I’m hoping I will be able to continue the improvements for a long time.

Drink More Water

March’s Focus Area

This month’s focus is on drinking more water. I have been trying to increase my water intake a little each month since January. I’m was up to 5 glasses a day at the end of February, so for March my goal will be 6 glasses of water a day.

I thought about trying to bump the goal up more, but I know it’s hard for me to sometimes fit in 5 glasses. So, I thought I would just increase on more glass a day, to play it safe. 🙂

My Progress for this week

This past week went fairly well for me getting my water in. I don’t keep much else on hand to drink except for water and milk. So there isn’t much to choose from, when I get thirsty.

I was only able to fit in 5 glasses of water on two days. I had a tooth that was really sensitive for a couple of days. It does that every once in a while. So I needed to get the water out of the refrigerator and let it sit so I could tolerate drinking it. On those days I just didn’t do that often enough and so I missed my goal.

I’m hoping to get all 7 days in this week. I was also able to get my exercising in this week and I did really quite well on getting my fruits and vegetables in too. I just missed one day this week.

How did you do? Did you meet your goal for your water intake?
