12 Months to a Healthier You, Week 32

A healthier You for 2014

I’m following along with the 12 Months to a Healthier You Challenge at Money Saving Mom. I started the challenge in January to help keep me motivated to lose weight and help me establish some good healthy habits too.

How the Challenge Works

Each month of the challenge will have an area to focus on, to help improve your health and mine. This month’s focus will be on getting to bed early.

Rest is so important to stay healthy. For this month I’ll be trying to go to bed a little earlier so I can be sure to get enough sleep each night.

My Goal for August’s Focus Area

This month the focus will be on getting to bed early. I’ve been fairly consistent on getting to bed at a reasonable time each night. So, my goal for this month is to be in bed by 10:30 each night. And when I mean be in bed, that means in bed with all of my electronic devices turned off.

It easy to crawl into bed and then start watching a video or catching up on Facebook or email. Does anyone else do this? But for the month of August I will be trying to be in bed with all electronics off by 10:30. I think that is a fairly reasonable time. Don’t you?

My Progress for this week

This week I did really well on getting to bed on time every night. But as far as turning off the electronics I only managed to be done at 10:30 at night on 4 nights this week. I should have just turned off the iPad and finished up the next morning but I didn’t. I’m going to try to do better this coming week.

As far as my other goals, I got in my exercising, most of my water, and ate lots of fruits and vegetables. I was really good with limiting sugar since I haven’t been doing much in the way of grocery shopping. When you don’t have it in the house you can’t eat it.

I also read about 10 chapters this week and finished one of my current books! Now to pick a new one to start. 🙂 I have a bunch just waiting for me in my Kindle.

What time to do you try to be in bed by?
