Quick Kitchen Tip, How to Quickly Core a Pepper
Chopping up vegetables for meals can be time-consuming. While I love to include fresh fruit and vegetables in recipes and at meals it can take time to get them all cut and prepared. But with this quick kitchen tip you can get your bell peppers ready to chop quickly.
One day I was watching a cooking show and the chef showed how to he cores a bell pepper. I was surprised at how well and fast it really was. Now I almost always core my peppers this way. It’s just super fast and easy to do.
Now you can always cut the pepper in half, then pull the core from the top. Take out the ribs and the seeds, then do the same for the second half. Or you can use this easy technique to do the same thing in just a few seconds.
Here’s the video I made since I learn so much easier by watching but I’m also including the instruction below in case you would rather read than watch.
How to quickly Core a Bell Pepper
- Wash the bell pepper, hold the pepper on its side and cut with a knife to the core, but not through the core.
- Turn the knife and roll the pepper, keeping the knife close to the core. Keep cutting and turning until you reach the beginning cut.
- Pull out the core and open the bell pepper. There might be a couple of ribs and seeds to rinse out.
- That’s it the pepper is cored and can be prepared for the recipe.
