It All Starts with One Thought or Action
Good ideas start with just one tiny thought or action. Forming a new habit can be so hard if you think of everything you have to do to make a new habit stick. But the one, the most important step is the first one.
You can change your life today all it takes is one little step. One thought change, one action, don’t think about all the rest. The first step is often the hardest, the one that gets you rolling in the right direction. Push yourself to start, to just do it. Take that first step.
Recently I made a new habit of getting up early. There were so many morning I had to just thrust myself out of bed to get moving and going. I had to will myself to just do it. It wasn’t easy at the beginning but I found something out in this process of change. It only takes one small action to get the ball rolling. Putting my feet on the floor at dark o’clock was the first step. After I took that step everything else seemed easy, well most days.
Concentrate on Today Only
You don’t have to change everything right now, just take that first step today. Don’t think about how hard it will be later or tomorrow just concentrate on the here and now. Focusing on right now and taking that first step can set you up for the next decision in the right direction. It is like a chain reaction, with each right action you feel confident of the next right action and so forth and so on. Soon a habit is formed.
So if you have a task, a life change you want or need to make, don’t let fear hold you back. Take the first step and live in the here and now. Let the future decisions wait for their own time, they will come and you can take them head on then. Just concentrate on today and that first step.
