The best freezer containers to freeze food in are freezer containers or freezer bags. These are containers that are made to go into the freezer, seal tight and hold up to the cold temperatures.

Don’t use containers like old butter tubs or plastic containers. They don’t seal tightly. Your food can end up freezer burnt. It’s best to use a freezer containers, freezer bags, or even a vacuum sealer to keep food sealed well and fresh.

Here’s a set of Glass Freezer Containers and a set of Plastic Freezer containers.

The only problem with freezer containers is they can be bulky if you are limited on freezer space. If freezer space is limited try using freezer bags instead.

Freezer Bags are what I use the most. They are easy to purchase at any store. And if you get the stand and fill type, you don’t need anything to help them stand up while you fill them. I love the stand and fill bags.

But if you don’t have the stand and fill type bags, you get these handy clips to help the bags stay upright while you fill them.

And the final reason freezer bags are better is that you can freeze them laying flat and then stand them up so they take less room in your freezer. This is a great way to maximize the space in your freezer.

  1. I’m curious if you’ve tested any of these recipes using a vacuum sealer (like you mention) bag for freezer storage? And if you did how long did you let it stay frozen before trying it? Asking because some of your sauces are basic marinades. I thought there was a limit on leaving those vacuum sealed with the meat before there were adverse flavor effects (they get too intense).

    1. BonJon, I’ve not recently vacuumed sealed any of these recipes since I find it easier to use a zipper topped bag with liquids. I would never hit the stop button in time to keep the liquid from being sucked out. Ha! But I wouldn’t leave them long in a zipper sealed bag with marinade as I’ve heard the flavors get too intense too. Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
